Friedman Integrated Real Estate Solutions, one of the nation’s leading providers of commercial real estate services, is pleased to announce the recent completion of over 150,000 square feet in construction and design projects.
Friedman was recently selected to complete a 20,000 square foot build-out for Arborland Center, a 407,000 square foot retail power center located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The space, which formerly housed a Border’s store chain, was converted into two retail suites, with additional square footage obtained by Friedman’s construction efforts to downsize a pre-existing Old Navy located in the center. The build-outs were created for popular shopping chains Ulta, a salon and beauty store with 550 stores in 45 states, and Five Below, a specialty value retailer focused on the teen and pre-teen customer. “We were excited to have been selected by Arborland for this project,” said Jim Parrinello, Vice President of Construction at Friedman. “These new stores will thrive. Arborland’s location at the intersection of Washtenaw Avenue and US-23, averages traffic counts of over 100,000 cars a day.”
Friedman also recently completed a 33,000 square foot build-out in Columbus, Ohio for an international consultancy firm seeking a more open, collaborative space. The firm relocated to One Crosswoods Office Park, a prevalent office building located on the I-270 loop in the heart of Columbus’ Northern Arc. The assignment involved the merging of multiple suites in the building to create an open-plan office which would embrace the firm’s collaborative, interconnected culture. The space, completed in less than three months, features innovative workspaces and conference rooms, an increasingly popular trend in office design, as many transition away from the traditional workspace.
Friedman’s Design team recently renovated two buildings in North Troy Corporate Park located in Troy, Michigan. The first building, 750 Tower Drive, recently underwent a dramatic lobby and entry level corridor renovation. The design included sleek tile flooring with exotic granite accents, rich wood panels and architectural lighting. In addition, tranquil decorative elements were also added to the entry. “The addition of water features, birch trees and river rocks create a very ‘Zen-like’ atmosphere in the atrium lobby,” said Hilary Bell, Director of Space Planning at Friedman. “Considering the increasing amount of time tenants spend in their spaces on a daily basis, it is important to not only emphasize function but comfort, which is why we are committed to selecting only the highest quality design elements for our spaces.”
The second building, 5750 New King Drive, also underwent extensive renovations in the lobby and common corridors. The design team incorporated the existing marble and wood finishes and enhanced them with new style carpeting, accent wall covering, updated ceilings, and new lighting. Wooden features also add warmth to the entrance area, and new seating and architectural grass planters were installed for an inviting area for tenants and their clients.
