Hamtown, Villages and Belle Isle Full of DIA's Outdoor Art

Posted on July 23, 2013

Should you find yourself wandering The Villages, Hamtramck or Belle Isle this weekend (it’s supposed to be far less miserable, heat-wise), keep an eye out for some outdoor artwork from the Detroit Institute of Arts. Every summer, the DIA installs outdoor replicas of popular paintings throughout metro Detroit. It’s known as the Inside-Out program, and is yet another example of why the DIA is among the best museums in the country. Still looking to avoid any sort of perspiration? The DIA has a living room for that. Head over to the redesigned Kresge Court, where you’ll find free comfy seating complimented by free WiFi and snacks.
